Naples Test Facility

Biofarm was founded in 2003 for agricultural consultancy and in 2007 was officially recognised as a Test Facility by the Italian Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies. It carries out official field trials with Plant Protection Products (PPPs) already on the market and/or undergoing registration, in order to generate the data required for the applications for authorisation to market and use agrochemicals.

The Test Facility conducts trials to verify the utility and biological efficacy of active substances and assesses the potential development of resistance as well as phytotoxicity towards non-target plants and beneficial arthropods; it also carries out residue determinations for human and animal safety purposes.

Thanks to its team of experts, and with reference to Regulation (EC) No. 1107/2009, Biofarm also offers a regulatory support service, managing the preparation of the following Dossiers:

• Registration of Plant Protection Products for non-professional use (Art. 33)
• Placing on the market of Plant Protection Products (Art. 34)
• Mutual Recognition (Art. 40)
• Renewal of Plant Protection Products (Art. 43)
• Emergency Authorizations for Plant Protection Products (Art. 53).
